Omega Fire Monitoring is the premium monitoring service available in Kelowna, Penticton, and surrounding areas. As a part of the Omega group of companies, Omega Fire Monitoring is supported by 35 years of experience in the communications industry.
We are partnered with the local fire department! This means we provide the fastest response times and the most reliable monitoring solution available.
We install the monitoring module in your building and connect it to the fire panel. The module is then connected to two separate lines: a phone line and a secondary wireless line. The new fire codes require you to have one telephone line that will last 24 hours without power, in case of power failure. Shaw telephones are rated for 1.5 hours, but Telus lines are powered so they are not affected by a power outage.
The second line needs to be wireless (cellular) or internet based. Internet lines are never used because rules require the connection to come from the opposite side of the building than the phone lines. For this reason, we use cellular, the preferred and safer method.
With our Fire Monitoring package, you will have a Telus line (tenant or fax) and a wireless line.
Should a fire occur, the monitoring equipment will immediately take control of the designated phone line, even if it is in use, and instantly send a signal to the fire department dispatch controller. If the fire has destroyed the main line, the secondary wireless line will be used.
As added assurance, the monitoring system is designed to provide daily status reports to the fire department to ensure everything is working properly.
The equipment on the customer premise remains the property of Omega Monitoring Inc.
All yearly invoices are due and payable on January 1st of every year. You may disconnect at any time; however, no partial rebates will be refunded.
Omega shall have access at any time to the equipment in the customer's premise for the purpose of repair and maintenance, replacement, or removal.
Omega is not responsible for the operation of the customer owned fire alarm system.
If a problem occurs, the emergency contact will be informed. The customer/emergency contact will then have the RESPONSIBILITY for FIRE SAFETY and FIRE ALARMS until the problem can be corrected. THIS MEANS THAT 911 WILL HAVE TO BE CALLED IN CASE OF AN EMERGENCY/FIRE.
It is the responsibility of the CUSTOMER to ensure that the emergency contacts are current and can be contacted at any time for emergencies.
